The Salvatorkolleg with the Reference no. 2009-DE-192 is an independently- run secondary school and prepares its students for the Abitur (university qualification). Next to the standard subject the school puts a big focus on strengthening the personalities of the students and offers loads of extracurricular activities: days of contemplationi, discussions, seminars for particularly interested students and a foundation “Horizonte für die Zukunft” (horizon for the future) which tries to encourage students to intercultural experience.
The Salvatorkolleg is located in a small town in a rural environment. Public transport into the next bigger towns are scarce. As the Salvatorkolleg only hosts one volunteer, it is an advantage if the volunteer is open and outgoing and comfortable to live in a small community.
Tasks
The volunteer will be included in all aspects of the school work: – helping in the school secretary and the library – supporting the students in their homework – development and organisations of school trips – supporting the teachers and introduce a Applicants should be aware that the Salvatorkolleg is located in a rural environment with limited connection to the next bigger town.
The volunteer is strongly encouraged to bring in his/her own ideas, these could be art classes, photo workshops, musical workshops, but also cooking classes for example.

As we have hosted a young Turkish girl this year we would like a volunteer with a different nationality this year.
