Vacancy for EVS Volunteer in Liechtenstein

March 9, 2012 | In: , ,

The socio-pedagogical living community Vaduz with the following Ref no2010-LI-4 meets the socio-pedagogical assisted-living needs of children and adolescents in Liechtenstein. JWG offers such children accommodation and a well-structured way of living.

Our Clients
children and adolescents aged 7 to 25; origin, religion or gender are
irrelevant for admittance
• fast admittance for children and adolescents in crisis
• young mothers and their children
Capacity: 6 – 9 people

The tasks of EVS volunteers can be broken down into three basic areas:

1.Coaching of our clients in the tasks of daily life, which include cooking,
cleaning and shopping, meals. Apart from that, supporting the clients in
personal hygiene matters; the EVS volunteers are also co-responsible for
the way the meals are organised and the atmosphere in the living
community. This area takes up most of the work. Volunteers don’t have to be able to do everything, but they have to be willing to get involved in this area.

2.Providing assistance in the youths’ spare-time activities; the JWG offers
the youngsters group weekends (skiing, camping, cultural trips, hiking,
etc.) all the year round. EVS volunteers can also help with the required
preparation, implementation and follow-up work. Organising the evenings is
another area to which EVS volunteers can contribute their ideas and put
them into practice.

3. Supporting youngsters
with their school- and homework. Where this is concerned, it is important
that the young people are given continual assistance, i.e. that they are
regularly coached by the same person for a defined period of time.

EVS volunteers should be interested in stationary youth work and social
work in general. A certain level of social maturity is expected, along
with the willingness to act independently. Basic German-language skills are
welcome in order to be able to communicate with the young people in the
JWG. We expect the EVS volunteers to set an example for our youths. The
EVS volunteers must follow the group leaders upon whom they should be able to model their own actions. We expect a well-groomed appearance and no obvious orientation towards youth peer groups.

CV, Motivation Letter (preferably in German language) and Photo are to be
sent until the 20th March to the Jugendwohngruppe, Ms. Ursula Dahmen.
